Right, the injectors work fine without the plastic tip, but I SUSPECT that the tip offers some thermal protection for the heat soak after shutdown, so I like to keep them in place. > I'll install it for now, but I'm going to bank on buying a set of > injector seals in case I need to revisit this later. You can reuse injector seals many times. I squeeze the rings in my fingers. if they are too hard to squeeze together or if they break, then I replace them. Otherwise I reuse them. > I'm going to shop for a few mason jars actually. I like using them for > bleeding brakes, and I can use them for storing my used injectors. I use peanut butter jars, because they are plastic and unbreakable. The kerosene doesn't seem to touch this plastic. > Now to find a gas station that has kerosene. Home Despot might be another place to look. It may be sold as lamp oil, but for a lot more money. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
