The early type 3 FI pumps were not fuel cooled, but starting around '70 they all started coming with pumps which had the motor immersed in gasoline. They seem to have been incredibly reliable, but the rubber seals in them appear to be giving problems occasionally, now that they are ~35 years old. - Jim Adney Madison, WI USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
