Hi Howard,
I've not heard of that before - I wonder if our retired VW mechanic on the
VW-list has.  You should take a look at the e-mail list www.vwtype3.org as there
are lots of problems related to Type 3s.  We've got most of them sussed now.
There's a worldwide network of us.  I got over to USA from the UK in 2004 - we
all met up in Hershey, PA.  Even got to see the Witness Squareback that Harrison
Ford drove in the film!
