Ya know... I had this problem with my Opel.
Turns out the distributor bearing was shot... and grounding for the shaft
was poor.  I remember adding a ground wire to it a couple years before I
sold it but it finally got bad enough to cause low end missing.

Different car yes... but it was a Bosch dist.
