You do need seatbelts and the muffler system must be intact as in not omitting too many noxious fumes....That's Nor East PA anyway. Our 91 Jetta GLI failed for that back in '03 - thanks crappy O2 sensor! I live in VA during the week and PA on the weekends and holidays. All the states are the same (except when I lived in WI, if you happen to live in such northern areas as Neena Menasha, Crivitz or the like, you can drive a truck with "farm use" spray painted on cardboard as your plate down the interstate, have it held together with duct tape as apposed to bolts, and the cops will just smile and wave as you drive by.) ...but I digress...LOL This additional info relating to antique registration directly from PENNDOT: http://www.dot10.state.pa.us/pdotforms/fact_sheets/fs-ant.pdf USE OF ANTIQUE AND CLASSIC REGISTRATION PLATES The use of antique and classic plates is governed by Section 1340 of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code which states: "It isunlawful for any person to operate a motorcycle or vehicle with antique and classic registration plates for general daily transportation. Permitted use shall be limited to participation in club activities, exhibits, tours, parades, occasional transportation and similar uses." Occasional transportation and similar uses is defined as one day a week. But we drive ours Fri, Sat and Sun and haven't gotten "busted" yet...but we're waiting...as for the ins co - we've renewed insurance 3x and haven't been asked again for mileage...just as an fyi...
