Yes, I've run across this several times. It's a lack of grease, entrance
of
rust/water, hardening of old grease. The really best way to fix / cure
this is
to take the wiper unit out, and disassemble, and clean the shafts and
bores,
and re-grease them. Once this is done, they should be good for 10 +
years (at
least that's what I've previously found). Anything else is a band aid,
and
you'll be back in there again. Just some food for thought.
