I had no idea what you meant until I read Bob's reply. You must be looking at 
the underside of the pan and he's probably right about this tube. The front end 
of that tube exits under the gas tank all the way to the front of the car.

There are just 4 heater control wires and tubes: 2 exit outside, at either side 
of the nose of the tranny and 2 exit under the back seat, inside the car.
