I have less than $10 in each of my mechanical gages, and 2-3% accuracy
is close enough for our purposes. 
We are allowed 28-30, and can go as high as 32 on a stock engine without
effecting performance.
Most modern regulators don't hold it that tight. +/-1.45 psi on a fixed
regulator @ 60 psi.
