Re: [T34] Distributor problems

<x-flowed>Steven,
Thanks for coming back on this. Can you or anyone else tell me what the length of the link between the bellows and the post on the advance plate should be set at?
I've searched the web and found nothing, but I know i've seen this somewhere recently. I guess it should just bridge to the post so there is no lost movement, but I wanted to check this.

Whan i suck on the pipe, it doesn't let air in , it just seems very stiffly sprung, even when I push the link rod towards the bellows.

The plate is free and everything else is in very good shape, so the vac can is the only questionmark. I'll play again tonight.

I know i could back off the throttle stop screws by the same amount and be somewhere near balance, but i don't want to have to redo the balance until I've got the other dizzzy in and the timing reset again.

Chris

It'd be great if it's fixed this easily.

Not necessarily. You should be able to just back off the idle stop screw.

=> sucking on the pipe doesn't move the link in at all

Then your vac can is probably junk. That's the standard test.

When it works it doesn't move the advance plate much (only five or six degrees, mind).
