I'm still curious about this possibility.

Every time I've had time to check the new one, it's been raining.  
*grr*.
However I've measured the resistance on the old bad generator, and I 
only came up
with 0  - 0.1 ohms.

What would result in a harder to spin generator? Higher or lower 
resistance?
