Hi all, Well, my son and I fixed the sloppy shifting with the trasmission. Turned out to be the gearshift rod coupler that attaches to the tranny. The old one was broken. I'm sure you're spose to change it with the tranny out, it took us about two hours. Then, I went and bought a timing light, as I suspected the timing was off. Turns out that there is no mechanical advance in the distributor. The vacuum advance works, but the mechanical was frozen solid. I took the distributor apart and the upper shaft and cam is frozen to the input shaft. The weights and springs are all there, and they look fine with no rust. Impossible for me to take it apart without some special tool as there is a C clip holding the upper shaft onto the input one right underneath where the rotor sits and there's no room to get in there. Any suggestions on how to get it apart and free it up? Or, where can I get a replacement 205L distributor?
