You can do it either way, but with the tranny out, more than half of the work is already done. > Then, I went and bought a timing light, as I suspected the timing was off. > Turns out that there is no mechanical advance in the distributor. Major parts may be extra, but are not often needed. Since your vac advance is working, you know that this part is good. You might be able to do this yourself, but I ruined a few before I worked out the techniques and made the tools I need. Plus I have parts here. I have good used ones, too, but I only sell them after rebuilding so that I can be sure of the quality. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
