Okay, I just checked the parts list, and it appears to be somewhat screwed up. It shows that valve used on dual carb engines up thru the end of '67, but then it also shows it being used again from '69 on. It also shows it being used on all FI engines '68-71. I know that the latter is not the case. Looking at the alternate parts that I believe were used from 68-71 (different breather box, short piece of hose, and different filler pipe) the parts list shows those parts as used on FI engines from 68-71, but on dual carb engines only in 68. So it appears that you're right, and your engine should have the rubber valve. Can anyone else verify that all dual carb engines came with the draft tube and rubber valve except the '68s? Seems pretty strange. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
