Of course the long center line is likely to fail where it gets continually wet under the gas pedal, but the only other ones I've ever had to replace are the short rear IRS ones. Those came in 2 versions. Early ones fit right down close to the diagonal arms and got packed with dirt between them and the arms. Those can rust thru due to the moisture that sticks in that dirt. Later, VW spaced them about 3/8" away from the arms and those never seem to get much more than surface rust. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
