The question of where it should be timed at idle depends on not much more than how much advance the distributor give you. If the dist gives you 22.5 deg of advance, then 7.5 is a good place to start. > After that I noticed in one of the books that a '69 is supposed to be timed > to 0 degrees. The '69 dist that we got over here with the FI give just about 30 deg of mech advance. Thus they get timed at TDC at idle. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
