And now for today's news: Replaced the metal gaskets with paper - already had the bakelite spacer in there. Adjusted the throttle cable a little - a closer inspection revealed that it was actually going a bit past closed, and was therefore partially open. Fixed a few bad connections in the FI wiring. Result: I can now hold an idle around 1000. Seems to be missing on #1 after it warms up, and #3 injector leaks just enough near the connector to bleed off pressure when it's shut off so I've got to work on those problems, but those aren't nearly so mysterious to sort out.
