The switch for the earliest Golfs (Rabbit) has a similar switch, that 
will fit in the 72-73 models. The electrical contact is used in the Type 
3 when the intermittent wiper is wired up, then it will wipe when you 
wash. The valve for the presure system will attach to the switch from 
the Golf, if one chooses to keep the pressure system, instead of going 
to an electrical pump.
