Yes, I have modified the Golf switch (I believe it was from a 76) to accomodate the washer valve, but I've never gotten around to installing it in my 73. When I do so, it will be installed with the programmable wiper relay found in 90's VWs. This relay lets you set the wipers at intervals from 0.5 to around 25 seconds.

Somehow, I think it's near impossible to modify the dash mounted swich to accept a microswitch to trigger the washer or wiper, unless you're able to put it in *in place of* the valve, at the rear of the wiper switch..

I do not know why, but for some reason I did not think about the dash mounted switch at all, when I wrote what I did.
