how can turning drums cause them to generate a pulsation? isn't it the
opposite?
anyway, they're brazilian so I'd like to get some german ones if anyone
knows where I can get some. any good old ones still out there worth working
with or should I just go new? >>
The new brazilian drums are really crap. They're machined off center (and
they're too thick in the mounting surface), so turning them a few times won't
help, unless you're working off the center hole (something normally done when
turning drums) that's machined in the center. You really want to find good used
German drums. Try looking in the Samba classifieds, in both the t-3 AND t-4
sections, as the drums are the same for both. I hope this helps.
