I can understand that issue, I've had similar things happen to me. I think your reaction should depend on the history with the garage. Was this the first time something like this ever happened? Have you been going there for a while? Aside from this screw-up, are they otherwise pretty good at working on you car? If the owner is decent, and you explain to him/her what happened-in a calm and clear way-he should be willing to rectify it. I don't think it is fair to the owner to just not go back, or to go in there yelling at them. He or she may not know that this has happened, or has been happening. If after discussing it with them-and they seem unwilling to resolve the issue toyour satisfaction-then you can take your business elsewhere-and let others know of your problems with this shop. As far as legal recourse-unfortunately it is probably not worth the time-unless you try small-claims court. Everyone makes mistakes, it is all in how we handle the mistakes we make...unfortunately this mistake happened to your car. -Kevin -----Original Message----- From: Dan Hoopes [mailto:dhoopes@gmail.com] Subject: [T3] paint ding at the shop and brakes not sure what i should do here and looking for some advice. i took Stanley to a local guy to have some brake work done. i noticed a ding of about 1" by 1/2" on the bottom edge of my door after i got it back from the shop ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
