[T3] engine rebuild / mods

<x-flowed>I would like to get some input on a few things.  Before I start, please keep 
in mind that in my dune buggy, my type 3 is not exactly a stock setup.

   I have decided that this spring I am going to pull the engine and 
overhaul it.  I want to get it into top form in all regards, new bearings 
and seals etc.  I have not decided whether to rebuild or replace the carbs. 
I also THINK that I want to "soup it up" a little bit.  I am not going to 
try to turn it into a 10 second drag racer, but I think that I would like to 
add a little HP.  I was considering the following modifications.
 a.. Dual port heads either stock or the ones with larger valves (mine are 
single port heads)
 b.. Larger pistons
   I am also planning to do the full flow filter.
   If I change the heads and the jugs, will all of the shrouds etc for the 
type 3 still fit?

   Is the type 3 engine worth more than a type 1 if I leave it alone? 
Would I be better off to sell my engine and get a type 1 to doctor up?  I do 
kind of like the low profile of the engine I have, but I do not want to get 
into something that does not work out.
