My gas cap has been so vacuum sealed it has taken me getting out of the car and hitting it with a "mallot" because neither the attendant or myself could unscrew it by hand. The car also *refuses* to take gas at any rate higher than a slow dribble. One of her favorite tricks to play on the gas attendant [I live in Oregon where we are deemed unable to pump our own gas] is to spit gas at them from the fill tube if they do not heed my meticulous emphasis on "extremely slow fill". Is this related to the venting system as well? [Makes sense to me that it does] Do you just run a hose downward through that hole and vent directly to the atmosphere? Going to spend a little time with the car tomorrow and it would be nice to get this fixed.
