[[[I agree, but I would suggest that you consider installing original style ports in your heads instead. Many new heads (possibly including the heads on there now) have the boss there where that port would go, so all you would have to do would be to drill and ream a hole there, and then press in a steel tube and you'll be exactly like OE. That has the advantage of putting the port where there is already a hole in the sheet metal, AND not having to mess with the hoses when you do a valve adjustment. ]]] Yep. I already looked to see if I had these bosses.....and I don't.....I would not be afraid to drill, tap, and thread in fittings if I had these bosses.........but no such luck........that's why I was thinking of the valve covers idea.... I've not got the engine in the car yet, so I can't tell what kinda clearances I would have for running the stock hose's to the air cleaner...but I see your point, Jim........they would not be easy to go to the factory openings in the sheet metal for sure! I don't know for sure that this engine will run good enuff to NOT need repair, so I'll get it to a running state back in the car and then decide which way to go........ ya know, technically....a small tube (like vacuum line size) to each valve cover would fulfill the required air supply and be easier to snake around.....oh well.........don't have to make that call as yet! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
