I suspect that the rear ends of the springs are in the wrong hole. There are several holes there and only one is right, and hooking up the front end of the spring when the rear is right is REALLY hard. > I wonder if the extra paint on my car is one > explanation for not-so-great fuel economy. Make sure both distributor advance mechanisms are working; suck on the vac can to make sure it holds vacuum and turns the breaker plate. Drive slower. That's the only thing that makes much of a difference, and it makes a BIG difference. My foot's gotten heavier over the years, and my gas mileage has suffered. I was forced to drive slower on a trip a year ago and was astonished at the difference it made when I lowered my freeway speed from 70 to 50. My mileage went up from 22 to 27. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
