I looked for several years, but came up dry. I ended up taking my element to 
my flaps, where we came up with something close to the size VW of Brazil used. 
It's not an exact fit, or have the metal ring around the element, but it did 
work. K&N wasn't any help either, just so you know. I'll look around later 
today and see if I can find the number off the filter I used.
 I've since converted the car over to an oil bath air cleaner. These pop up 
occasionaly in the Samba classifieds. I hope this helps.
