The heater channel is part of the body. It consists of several layers of folded 
sheet metal that make up the rocker panels and the stuff under the rockers. 
Replacing them is major surgery that involves cutting your body apart and 
welding in better parts from a donor car.

Are you sure this is what you had in mind?

Or is it possible that you are just missing the funny black corrugated plastic 
"Y"s that fit under the back seat and direct heated air out from under the back 
seat or into the rockers and up to the front?
