<x-flowed>Correct. Maybe the chrome was fading away (doubtful)? They were gold, I know that, but not entirely an even gold. The car was repainted bright yellow so maybe the PO had the shop paint the badges...your guess is as good as mine.

BTW, just to quash the inquiries that are bound to come in on this: There were no factory GOLD type 3 badges. They were all silver.
