How many do you want? http://classicvw.org/gallery/my_misc/dscf0073 Sorry about the poor picture. My camera skills were not the best.:+{ The ones in the front are the "store bought". The 2 in the rear are my home made ones. The ID of the store bought is 1.022. Opened the door to get my truck out to go to work, and smoke rolled out. My compressor motor had locked up, and the breaker did not trip. Luckily, the electrical panel is right inside the door. No damage done to the building or contents, but I had one hell of a scare. The good thing that came out of it, was that my wife let me buy a brand new compressor. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '64 T34 (not running) '65 T1 (not running) '05 KIA Sorento SUV russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Date: Fri, 29 Jul 2005 21:01:46 -0700 (PDT) From: William Sills <w_sills@yahoo.com> To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] Sad News Message-ID: <20050730040146.80226.qmail@web51806.mail.yahoo.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Well, I don't know if I will ever get a definate cause of the fire. ÊThe investigator that Allstate sent was citing the Squareback as the cause of the fire, but couldn't give me a reason how it started. ÊI had not driven that car in a week and it had been running fine the last time it was used. ÊI had not mowed the lawn for a few days, so the mower was not hot either. ÊAll the electricity to the garage was switched from inside the house, and that had been shut off hours earlier. There was extreme heat where the Square was though, the gearbox is completely burned out of the car. ÊJust the main shaft is sticking out from the clutch. ÊThe body is distorted too. ÊAll is not lost though, I went to the Invasion in Hershey last year and was inspired to save another Square. ÊThat car was in Jersey at the time of the fire, so it is fine (well it needs a lot of work, but is workable). ÊI am a member of the Central Jersey VW Society, even though I live in Southeast PA, and I had a fellow member offer to give me a 68 Fasty. ÊI'll certainly update if I learn anymore.
