Hey guys, tks for the help. Yes, the wires were correctly set up, and I'd gone thru the Weber tuning from Bob's info, but still didn't have anything to it but possibly the rings or carbs. On Saturday I pulled off the left carb and linkage and carefully tore it down to parade rest without messing up the gaskets since I didn't have any replacements. Holy cow was the inside of that thing messed up! It was like Christmas with all of the white snow of dried fuel everywhere in the bowl, the jets, you name it. I spent the afternoon pulling out every screw and jet, and cleaned them all off with carb cleaner, then wiping them clean. I put it all together again and, WooHoo, you wouldn't believe what a difference driving up a hill with four cylinders is compared with two. Thanks again, you guys. The Yokosuka City Hall wasn't open Saturday so I couldn't legally drive the car up to the Type III show in Yokohama so I took my Japanese brother-in-law up there in the other wheels. I counted 24 total, along with a bus, up there, and found that there is scheduled to be a meeting with over 3000 Type III's next month. I questioned the number, my Japanese not being that good, but they stuck with it. Maybe they are referring to Bugs, too? We'll see. I'll still be in port so I'll drive my car to that one (should have it registered by then) after I hook up these darn backup lights on the bumper. There actually is a switch on the nose of my tranny but not a single wire to be found. I crawled under a few of the ones up there and found where the wires run so that's the next project. There were a few nice cars up there. Separate note: I've seen you guys talk about the Pigalle model. Ironically, I found a Notchback a few blocks from my house that a local has just sitting there rusting away. It has all of the lights I need plus the luggage tray, radio, and a bunch of other stuff that I could use. Is that thing worth anything to try and restore, or should I just try for the parts? The fenders are shot and the areas around the base of the windows, front and rear, are rusted through, as well as the roof line.
