Yes, the copper washer is 36mm ID and 42mm OD. The nut is 46mm across.

Is that the outside of the flange? I would expect the holes to be about 35mm
diameter for a 1964 system.

That fits all twin carb and fuel injection to July '71, when the bigger outlet
hole was introduced for the '72 models. You can use either really, but the
tailpipe must be appropriate to the muffler, of course.

You need 2 Beetle tailpipe clamps and ring sets, and the two copper washers (not
available any more, until Jim gets to producing them!).

For the tailpipe and damper pipe, you need another Beetle tailpipe clamp set and
the heavy clamp that joins the tailpipe and damper pipe, plus an M8x20 to bolt
it to the muffler.

Yes, that's the cheapest of the after-market versions. Better quality ones have
cross-over pipes to give a similar length to the pipes that come from the front
ports through the lower heat exchangers. They are more efficient and a lot
quieter. The original VW ones are heavier gauge metal too, and last maybe 3
times as long.
