This is a 1600cc dual carb engine case. '66-'67 probably.
What is inside it, that could be anything.

If you have dual megaphone exhaust, I assume this means seperate exhaust
on each side. If this is the case, Then you have no hot exhaust right
below the cooling air intake. It sounds like you should be OK.
