Mounting it on the oil cooler will not give you a true oil temp. The best place is actually in the oil sump. On a T-3, if you can get it adapted into the oil dipstick tube right at the bottom, would work. And if you screw up installing it, no big deal. Just replace it. > > "Pimpride" on ebay sells such a connector.A small block with > three ports. > > > For the cylinder head sensor, it sounds like the best place is the > > number 3 cylinder head, and that there > > are sensors that go around the spark plug. > > > Perfect and the only place where you should measure for head temperature. Not really, as it is apt to get disturbed and be in the way for changing spark plugs. Leon Martinez mounted his under the upper-outer head stud/nut. He has one on each head, and I think a selector switch so he can check each head. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '64 T34 (not running) '65 T1 (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
