So I would guess that early cars don't have the metal reinforcement plate under the body above the torsion tube end? That confirms my view that the worst rust places on our vehicles (apart from front fenders) are those places that have been messed with later! (rear outside seat-belt mounts, front inner wheel well and fresh-air box). Dave.
