There are 2 steel dowell pins which align the 2 fan housing halves. If you look in the "armpits" on each side of the fan housing you will see a larger cast lug on each side. Each of these larger lugs had one bolt thru it that you have presumably removed, but there is also a pin in there, and these tend to get stuck. I use a small cold chisel stuck in the parting line of these lugs to wedge them apart. Tap the chisel in slowly, alternating sides to pull the halves apart evenly. > Also, does anyone know the thread pitch for the VW tool to pull off > the fan?
