Hi all, The free play in my steering is getting worst. I have recently changed the steering coupler because it had cracked from one of the screws holding the steering shaft (it was in really bad condition). I thought this was most of the free play in my steering, but it wasn't. I inspected everything under there when I was changing the coupler but I still could not clearly identify if the play is due to the steering box or the damper. I had the damper changed 18 months ago. When the damper was new the play was minimal, but there was some in there. Now, how can I find out if the problem is the damper or the steering box? When I had the coupler off I moved the small shaft coming out of the steering box and there was a little bit of play (I suppose since the steering wheel has a bigger diameter, the play is exacerbated by a huge degree). Any thoughts on this and whether a new steering box is necessary or can the current one be adjusted in some way?
