Since this tester is meant for the earlier FI cars & I lack the adaptor, at this stage the meter reads 10 ohms, even w/the throttle position switch unplugged...how does one check the throttle pos. switch w/a VOM, etc? Is there any way to mod my unit w/o the official adapter? > 12-13 w/in spec. > 14. pushing the buttons, I get NOTHING for any of the 4 injectors, though w/the ignition swithced on, I get a click when plugging/unplugging any of them. So is my tester broken at this particular stage? I will check each valve w/my VOM as soon as I get new leads for it, though it does seem highly unlikely that all 4 valves 'died in their sleep'. > I hope to get it running ASAP, as there's still plenty to be done by Invasion time & I have a mental block that keeps me from doing anything with the chassis when the motor is so close to running, but not actually running (unless there's a can of ether around). > (Anyone responding, please cc me directly, as I have to use web based AOL mail to post to the list as HTML cannot be turned off. Silly AOL-good thing it only costs me $3/mo!!!) I have the factory Fuel (K) manual with the test instruction for the EFAW-193 tester. If anyone requests it, I can scan the chapter and convert it to PDF format. Bear in mind that this is one of the biggest chapters in the manual, and many of the pages are fanfold, which makes them hard to scan. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '65 T1 (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
