Re: [T3] Body Side Trim from CIP

I just went through all this with the Crate.... get your beading from Marks
bug Barn, I rather suspect that your source is the same kit but the Marks
kit I have here and it looks like the one I was so happy with when I did the
Notch years ago. it has the various different peices for the different
applications and such but you may consider NOT painting it. Paint on
plastic is very prone to peeling, even with a flex agent, and I found that
the Black beading on even the Red car wasnt that offensive... I soon forgot
about it. If your going dark blue again it shouldnt stand out too much.

As for the side moulding, your getting the wide 66 stuff right? GO
STAINLESS!!!

ISP is only $50 more for thier stainless kit and as cheap a Bastard as I am
I still think its the best extra $50 youll ever spend... MUCH better look
and MUCH more durable! Do have them dig in and check to make sure the kit
they are sending you is correct for having or not having the side marker
lights.... most of the kits out there, at least the aluminum ones are
mismarked.

Subject: [T3] Body Side Trim from CIP

> Anyone have the aluminum body side trim from CIP on their Type 3? With
Sophy getting close to being painted, her old dinged up side trim just won't
look right with the fresh new paint. Just wondering about the quality of
the trim and the end treatments.

profiles for the various parts of the interface. It is only in black, but I
am sure I could paint it to match Sophy's new coat of paint. Some of her
original VW Blue beading is just in really rough shape...cracked and
discolored. Anyone with experience with the CIP beading kit?
