Re: [T3] Back from the Hillclimb!

<x-flowed>

One thing did really irritate me... after going through a half dozen or so
brake light switches before realizing that they arent compatable with DOT5,
I finally installed a mechanical one. This switch was a nice 15 amp
microwave oven door switch. Guess what? It Died! I think Ive had no brake
lights more often than Ive had them, and if I didnt have the cruise Id never
know that they quit!

Why aren't they compatible with DOT5? I have been running DOT5 in Sophy since before Parma without trouble and I am sure Jim A. has been running DOT5 even longer.

What next? I have a huge knife switch... wont look pretty but it will be
under the pedal cover... and THAT wont break!!

Keith, I will see if I can score you a genuine Ford GT brake switch. If it is good enough to signal a 550 hp, 210 mph supercar is stopping, I think it can handle a Type 3, even one as dark as some of yours. <G> I want to eventually wire in an electrical switch since it gives that fraction of a second or more earlier warning to the people following you.

We do have the disadvantage with our set-up that any switch will see more "environment" then most modern cars that hang the pedals from above.
