If you adjusted the timing for high altitude (more advance), you might be wise to back it off a few degrees. The other adjustments should be fine. None of them should have noticeable effect at idle, however. I think it's more likely that your carbs need a little tweaking to get back into balance. You may also have developed an intake air leak.
