Look at the wiring diagram for '73 cars, the '73 diagram is written in a different format that make it easier to follow where the current is flowing. The '73 TS wiring is exactly the same as yours. Notice that the inside TS lights get 12V on one side all the time, so all they need is a ground to make them come on. If they come on, but don't blink, then I would suspect the flasher relay first, but there could still be wiring problems or it could be the switch. You CAN do this, but it will take some effort on your part. The real advantage to working this out for yourself is that you will actually come to understand it, and once you understand it you will find that other electrical problems are also simpler to understand. Understanding is the key to maintenance independence; otherwise you remain at the mercy of people who care a lot less about your car than you do. You can buy a cheap voltmeter at Radio Shack probably for less than $20. If you have a Harbor Freight outlet near you you can get one for less than $10. In general, the parts you already have, even though worn, are probably better quality than the modern replacements you might find to buy. If you really need to replace something, I have all of these items here in good used condition. I never replace an OE part unless it is truly necessary, and when I have to, with very few exceptions I make every effort to find an old OE part to replace it with.
