Let me give you a little background. This '71 Fasty has 79K original unmolested miles on it. The vehicle has the original spare tire, original interior, original engine. As far as I can tell the following are also original: Brakes, Clutch, Coil, etc. The only things that have been changed are: Tires, Generator belt, distributor cap, most rubber for doors, front and rear glass, etc. This car is "the bomb"! Everything works, including the buzzer if you leave your keys in the ignition. I am the 4th owner. The last 3 (including myself) have been since 1999. The original owner bought the car in Knoxville, TN and had all the work done at the dealership. I have the original bill of sale and all the stamped records from the dealership. The second owner popped out all the glass, chrome, etc. had the car repainted. Then he showed the car. The 3rd owner bought the car 2 years ago at a show for his wife, she drove one in high school. When he brought it home for her, she said, "that nice dear" and never drove the car. He drove the car about 200 miles in two years, it just sat in his garage. This 3rd owner had a '63 Corvette restored for him. When the Vette was done, he needed the space in the garage, so he sold the Fasty. It was just dumb luck that I found the vehicle. (The reason I am telling you all this is so when I ask questions in the future you know that I am dealing with a stock car). The Fasty is a 2 on the standard scale and with a little work could be a 1. However, that is not my intention. I just think its a lot of fun to drive! I have a little experience working on vehicles from my youth. That was mostly muscle cars and a '80 Datsun. I did all the work replacing brakes, exhaust, clutches etc. I never did electrical though. To me that is the hardest part of any automobile, the electrical. Yes, I do have a Bentley. Yes, I have checked all of the fuses. No, I have not felt behind the dash to see if it has come loose. Common sense tells me that it has just gone out with age. Before it went totally out, when you pulled the emergency flasher, it did turn on the indicator lights on the dash. It just would not "blink". I will check behind the dash on Friday afternoon. I do not have anyway of checking if any voltage is going through each of the parts. However, I do intend this Fasty to be my daily driver, so it is not a bad idea to start replacing parts. Any leads on good quality parts at a fair price would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading. John __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
