OK, if it was pre-mixed into spray cans, then it wouldn't have any hardener in it. This means it wasn't supposed to be color sanded as it won't get strong enough (for color sanding) for at least 60 + days. I think you could sand the surface, re-spray your cans again, and be ok. If not, then you might need to clear coat it to get the shine. At this point, it sounds like you have a choice in which way you want to go, as either will work. You could have probably rubbed the spray painted finish (unless you were sanding runs) and been ok without the color sanding, but it's too late to save that finish now, as you've sanded the top gloss off. Enamel is funny about what you can and can't get away with, and it really helps to have the hardener mixed in if you're planning to color sand. I hope this helps.
