Re: [T3] Polishing new Paint

<x-flowed>>I am fairly certain that I just have basecoat and will need a clear coat to
get it shiny.

OK, if it was pre-mixed into spray cans, then it wouldn't have any hardener in it. This means it wasn't supposed to be color sanded as it won't get strong enough (for color sanding) for at least 60 + days. I think you could sand the surface, re-spray your cans again, and be ok. If not, then you might need to clear coat it to get the shine.

Well I tried to sand, respray the color, then clear coat, but to no avail. The fender is still dull. I guess I should have checked before spraying the fender. But you live and learn. I assumed that if they sold the paint in cans it was ready to go. That's what I get for assuming!

In any case, it looks alot better than a rusty fender! Also, I have to replace the right fender also, so when that happens I may just get the whole car repainted. Yeah, that sounds good, I tell my wife see I messed up this fender, I have to have the whole car painted.

Thanks for the help,
