Once you have the ball joints installed in the steering knuckle and have the steering knuckle pinch bolt installed, but not tightened, then you just put a 10mm wrench on the flats on either side of the notch and turn the stump of the ball joint until the flats are parallel to the knuckle with the notch facing forward. > Also how do I adjust the top ball joint. Make sure you know and understand the process BEFORE you put it in their hands, and make sure that you can talk to them and verify that they understand the process. It is different from other cars. The mechanics who did it before have retired. They WILL need to get underneath it to do the job. > I got my tie rod ends in and just like the ball joints it does not > show inner, outter, left, or right. I know the left inner no longer > exist. I have two different part numbers. 311 415 811C , left outer & right inner and 311 415 812C, left inner & right outer. It's one of the Ghia tie rod ends which is NLA. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
