Maybe there is a modern version though. I salvaged one off a Type 3 not long ago, but forgot to get the ballast resistor! The Type 3 is the only VW I've wondered about using that sort of coil - for the times when the air is saturated and the engine is 'heaving' with condensation. (Just seen it was the oil seal he was referring to, but comments are still valid for the coil). Dave.
