>I dont totally agree, rust though has little connection to mileage, it has to do with care and age and almost any 1997 here in the Albany area will have signs of rust starting and need any steel brake or fuel lines replaced, as well as the entire exaust. And Id like to find ANYBODY who has coaxed the tranny in thier Chrysler minivan past 100Kmi, and if they go on a 7 year old vehicle its often not worth the cost of replacing them, leaving you with a big piece of useless junk. Ford automatics of certain years are just as bad, but even the good ones are hard pressed to make it to 150K. Ill keep my VW's! Keith I have to agree with Brian on this. The auto makers are pushing 100,000 miles > before tune ups, 7 to 10 year or 70,000 to 100,000 miles before outerbody > rust thru, and things like that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
