yes - but is the accellerator pump nozzle different from the jet?  I'm 
wondering if I could still have a scenario where the jet is clogged, or the 
jet cut off valve is malfunctioning.

yes, but will re-check tonight to be extra-sure.

spark plugs a little blackish, and maybe a touch oily, but other than that 
ok.

I didn't make any any changes to the engine between the time it was running 
strong and the time it had a loss of power.
