That's correct. There are 3 distinct lengths of these shafts used on type 3s.

I can measure some tonight, but first I'm going to check the Bentley manuals. I 
think the lengths are all listed there, plus I THINK the MT type 3 shafts may 
be the same as the MT type 1 shafts. Would that help you find some?

Otherwise, I have good used shafts here.
