Hi, I wonder if anyone on the list can help me I have converted my 1968 Auto Shift 1600TL to a manual as the auto box packed up. I have finished the job but the problem (discovered in the final stages) is that the driveshafts are the wrong length - the auto has 2 odd size shafts, where it appears the manual has 2 equal size shafts The Type 3 with the IRS & manual box was never imported into South Africa (where I live) so my chances of finding a pair of the correct length shafts from a scrap yard are almost zero. The other option is to get another auto 'short side' shaft & make up 2 spacers so they fit, but I would like to try & get the correct lengths of the manual box IRS car's shafts before I can do this. (one of the auto shafts is too long & the other is too short). Would anyone have manual shafts handy that the can measure for me ?
