Look under your dash, against the firewall and to the left of the steering column. The grey box is the fuel pump relay. There is a white plastic plug on it which you can ignore. Look at the other wires on the relay. On yours (MT), there will just be 2 red wires. Clip one alligator clip onto the metal end of one red wire and then clip the other alligator clip to the metal end of the other red wire. When you make the second connection there should be a small spark and you should hear the pump start running. Don't let either alligator clip short to anything grounded or you'll blow a fuse. If you blow this fuse, the car won't run until you replace it. Don't forget to remove the clip lead when you're finished. ;-) -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
